This role offers the opportunity to work independently on project tasks, contributing to the development and delivery of high-quality designs.

About the Role

The BIM Coordinator will partner with the BIM Manager to build and maintain the systems, standards, and workflows that enable 50+ staff to deliver high-quality projects efficiently. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, has empathy for users struggling with software issues, and takes pride in creating robust, well-documented systems.Core focus areas: Revit libraries, families, and templates; comprehensive standards documentation; BIM coordination across multiple concurrent projects.Essential skills: Advanced Revit knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, excellent English communication, and strong documentation abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain Revit families, templates, and content libraries
  • Implement version control and quality assurance processes
  • Create documentation for family parameters, naming conventions, and usage guidelines
  • Ensure library content meets Australian standards and firm requirements
  • Develop and maintain BIM modelling procedures, workflows, and best practice guidelines
  • Document standards for file management, model organisation, and data accuracy
  • Collaborate with BIM Manager to establish and refine firm-wide BIM standards
  • Implement and follow BIM Execution Plans (BEPs)
  • Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks / BIM 360 / ACC
  • Manage model cleanliness, parameters, families, and data accuracy
  • Support issue resolution with consultants and internal teams
  • Conduct quality checks ensuring compliance with firm standards
  • Maintain file management and version control across Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Provide technical support for Revit issues
  • Diagnose and resolve problems with models, families, templates, and workflows
  • Identify recurring issues and develop systematic solutions
  • Collaborate with BIM Manager on continuous improvement initiatives
  • Test new Revit versions, families, and templates before deployment
  • Verify accuracy of parameters, naming conventions, and data structures
  • Prepare training materials and user-friendly documentation
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users

Qualifications and Skills

  • Advanced Revit proficiency (families, parameters, templates, system architecture)
  • BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (project setup, file management, collaboration)
  • Strong understanding of BIM coordination, data management, and file structures
  • Understanding of Australian documentation standards and BIM workflows
  • Excellent English written and verbal skills
  • Strong technical writing and documentation abilities
  • Ability to create clear, user-friendly guidelines
  • Empathy for end users and collaborative mindset
  • Dynamo scripting
  • Grasshopper for Rhino & Rhino.Inside
  • Python, C#, or other coding languages
  • pyRevit development
  • Revit API or plugin development experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
